Mental Health in the Workplace

Had the pleasure of attending a workshop put on by the great people at the Licenced Trade Charity, up in Brancaster Staithe.

Mental health is something that is now finally being talked about openly, which is great – hopefully the era of ‘man up’ and ‘stiff upper lip’ are coming to a close.

Realising that more people see each year from suicide than are killed on the UK roads, was a shocking statistic to digest.

I’m very pleased to confirm that the funding has now been released to Student Life from my District Council Enabling Communities budget to fund a team of Yr10 Student Mental Health First Aiders at Farlingaye School – hopefully these people can make a lasting difference to the attitudes towards discussing & recognising mental health issues moving forward – I feel that this project will be a great legacy for Woodbridge and that school year moving forward.
